Here are some pics of Mariah's 4th birthday. I can't believe she is 4 already! Where does the time go?Most of my pics are on facebook...so go there and view them all...if you are not a friend you can become one but you should be able to see the photos either way.
Have a good week!
Baby boy is growing great. Can't wait for him to be here so my bladder and insides get a little break from the boxing and kicking matches. I will keep you up to date!

We have a winner!

Ok, so not to many of you loverly people decided to participate but those who did...thanks and it was fun to remember!
The winner is Anne. It has nothing to do with the extra point she claimed (however that was good). We just chose her memory as the best one. Thanks to everyone who celebrated my 100th post with this fun memory game.
Anne, just email me your address and I will send you a little something soon!
Tricia :)
Just a side note: The comment that my sister wrote was very close to winning...reason I decided not to choose her is because I did not want to show favorites...her being my sis and all! Love you Kate!

Ladies Retreat 2008
Last weekend we had a Ladies Retreat for our church that was loads of fun. We dealt with the subject of having a Mary heart in a Martha world...which basically means we need to put intimacy with the Lord above all the business in our lives. Great topic...much learning...much fun!! We were up until 4 am just talking on Friday night (breakfast was at 8:30). We were SO tired Saturday but it was a great experience!
Below are some pictures of the weekend. Enjoy!!
*We have bible study at her house each Monday*
*I co-run the Kidz Zone in church with this lovely lady*
*We laughed a lot on Friday night*
*Pepsi got us all through to 4 am*
*I had fun...this was Saturday afternoon...do I look tired? I did not do my hair so instead I donned this lovely hat...doesn't it bring out my...total lack of style!?!?*

Stop the "if only"
Go here and read something I think we all need to read. I think we need to be content where God has us and try to live a life that pleases Him...not "me." Hope it inspires you!

Please read this!!

Here is one way you can make a difference in some children's (and young adults) lives. Read this and then commit to helping or praying. God is so wise and allows things into our lives that help us to grow stronger. I hope this inspires you today!

Home Recovering
Hey all! Well, I am home recovering from surgery number 3 and doing well. I want to thank all of you who have been praying and I will keep you posted.
On another note, go here to read something I think we all need to read. I found this blog through another friends and have enjoyed his writings. He is a pastor in the Outer Banks and I think it is worth your time to read the blog.
Anyway, I will keep you posted on how I am feeling!

Tag....you are it!!
If you are reading this....you have been tagged! Better answer the questions!!
What I was doing 10 yrs ago: Wednesday, May 6, 1998, 6:44 pm: I was most likely studing for finals or helping out at AWANA for the church.
Five things on my to do list for today: 1. Finish Laundry. 2. Clean the house since my family is coming this weekend. 3. Get a few grocery items for the weekend. 4. Go to music team practice. 5. Get Mariah in bed before too late!
Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Pay off all our debt, buy a house, get a puppy, help our church, go on missions trips to help others....
Three of my bad habits: Being lazy when things need to get done, drinking far to much soda, getting upset to easy
Five places I have lived: Jamestown, NY - Haddon Heights, NJ - Durban, South Africa - Duryea, PA - Dickson City, PA
Five jobs I have had: McDonald's - Secretary for a Gastroenterologist - Secretary for a Contractor - Secretary for a Church Planter - Tupperware Consultant

I am thankful.....
I saw this on a friends blog (Ruth Stiles) and just thought it was worthy of repeat on mine.
I AM THANKFUL:
*FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
*FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
*FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.
*FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED .
*FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
*FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
*FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
*FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
*FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..
*FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.
*FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.
*FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY! BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.
*FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
*FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
*FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

Being a pastor's kid
All you pastor's kids out there (and everyone else really) have to read this. I have been praying for a special family and I got connected to this blog through them. It is worth a read for sure!!! The name of the article is "What you might not know about your pastor's kids" by Rick Lawrenson.

Spring....where are you?

Seems I was wrong about the whole spring-being-here-soon thing. It is COLD outside and they actually called for sleet and possible SNOW tonight here in PA. Oh well, guess I will be moving down south soon (I wish).
So, I have been bored today trying to just hang at home, safe from the nasty cold weather. I think I probably should have been praying more. Or reading God's word more. Somehow even when I am bored I forget to do that! What is up with that??? Got to get better.
I have however been praying for our family friend Tricia Lawrenson. She is right now in Duke hospital recovering from a double lung transplant that she has been waiting for a long time. I am in awe of this little family. Her little girl, Gwyneth Rose, was born just a few weeks ago premature and doing great. God is so good and I see evidence of that in their lives. Her husband Nate is a real inspiration to be on how to have faith in the tough times. Check out there site here for more detailed information.
Well, I have nothing else really to speak of. If I think of more I will get back on and blog away. Have a super night!

Bad Days

Ok, I am having a "bad day." I feel as though I have been dealing with this vision stuff forever! Some days it just seems like I will never get out of this and have my life back. I want to not think about it and I want to just be ok with it.....but I am not.
I have come to the point lately where I don't feel like doing anything around the house. I just want to sit on the bed or couch and wait for this to end. I just want to stop having to do the dishes, do the laundry, do all I have to do with eyes that are not functioning right.
As I am typing this I think of our friend Tricia who is sitting in a hospital waiting for new lungs. She has had CF (Cystic Fibrosis) her whole life and it is now come to a point where she needs to have a double lung transplant to keep living. I am in awe of Tricia. We share names but we don't share the attitude about what we go through. Her and her husband Nate have an amazing trust in our God that I want to have. They are a true example of what it means to go through a tough time and remain trusting. I know they must have times of frustration and worry but they have really showed me what it means to trust. Thanks guys for the great example!
So, anyway, if you think about me can you say a prayer. I know what I need to do and I will try to do it. I think some days just get over my head! Thanks for listening to me rant. Let me know how I can be praying for you too!

For Tricia and Nate

I can't wait for you to experience....
1. The look that she gives you just before she says "I love you, Mommy"
2. The smell of her tiny little feet...they are the only feet I smell
3. The first time she starts counting or saying the alphabet without your help
4. Hearing her singing in her room...totally off key...and thinking she is the best singer you have ever heard
5. Her first birthday cake all over the room
6. Smiling just because she came in the room and she looks so sweet
7. The feeling you get when she says "NO" to you
8. How great it is when after being babysat, the babysitter tells you how good she was and all the stuff she did right that she never does for you
9. Eating something out of her hand that has just come out of her mouth...never thought I would but you do it so she doesn't cry
10. Watching her learn things so quickly and thinking you have the smartest kid in the world
